Now through February 3rd, ZORA! The Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts and Humanities ( is taking place in Eatonville, Florida, outside of Orlando. Events include appearances by writers, artists, and filmmakers, along with a multi-day street festival and exhibits at the Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine Arts.

The festival takes place annually in January and honors Zora Neale Hurston (1891-1960), a dominant female voice during the Harlem Renaissance. Hurston’s hometown, Eatonville serves as the setting for her novel Their Eyes Were Watching God.
